“I would like to share a true story of my experience of obtaining Car Ins. noting the sharp contrast in customer service etiquette between an agency and a husband and wife small business team.
I recently obtained a used car and was simply looking to replace the same exact coverage I had on my previous car.
I initiated 4 calls over the coarse of a week to an agency. The assigned agent didn’t listen to what I was specifically asking for, used language that was confusing, and repeatedly added coverages and costs I had already made clear I wasn’t interested in. He didn’t keep his word about sending a quote, twice , and I received at least 4 different excuses form the receptionist. It was frustrating, time consuming, and the needless conversation and redirecting exhausted my patience.
After a week of this, and still no Car Ins.coverage, I felt very disappointed and began to browse online for a different agency and agent. I saw the ad for APECS Insurance Agency, and choose that one for 2 simple reasons, it is located close to where I live, and the agent looked friendly. I called on a Saturday, thinking I would just leave a message, hoping to have some follow up on Monday. I left a message at 11:19 am, and within an hour and a half a friendly fella, John Stearns returned my call, assured me he could help and was willing to get started immediately. He listened to my insurance needs, offered some insights, I listened, and decided to stick with my original plan. He obliged that request in a respectful, friendly manner, bundled it with my Renters Ins., and wrote it up. He said that he would email the signature portion to get the Car Ins, activated that very same day.
He did what he said he would do from start to finish in less than 3 hours on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. That is Great service!
John explained everything in an understandable, non pressured, and courteous manner.
